CBT

(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

Behaviour Change

Our perspective of the world is based on our mental representation which is the result of every experience from conception to the present day. CBT works to identify inaccurate mental representations or ways of reasoning that create disordered emotions and behavior.

A Cognitive Therapist teaches clients how to identify inaccurate mental representations through a process of evaluation. This way, the participant can learn to observe and monitor their own thoughts so that they can discriminate between a skewed perception and reality.
