WHAT IS THE CLOSEST AIRPORT?

DO YOU INCLUDE FREE AIRPORT TRANSFERS?

Yes, we have complimentary scheduled airport transfers.

Leaving Aqua Village Health resort & Spa at 12 PM on September 23rd

Transport time is 2hrs.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T MAKE THE AIRPORT SHUTTLE?

We can help you set up private transport and group with other guests.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR TRANSPORTATION TO THE ADVENTURES YOU INCLUDE IN THE RETREAT?

No, all transportation for scheduled activities is included. 

WHAT IS THE LOCATION LIKE?

The hotel is located near the town of Oliveira do Hospital in the countryside of Portugal. The resort is surrounded by rolling green hills and is perched on the edge of the Alva River. There is a hot spring on the property that feeds mineral-rich water to the 34 degree (93F) pool and to various spa services. Paddleboards and kayaks are available for use on the river, unlimited use of the thermal pool, hydrotherapy massage circuit, sauna, steam room and gym is included.

Check-in and Check-out

WHEN IS CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT? 

Check-in is at 2 PM on arrival day and check-out is 12 PM on departure day.

MY FLIGHT ARRIVES LATE AT NIGHT. CAN I STILL CHECK IN?

Check-in is available up until 8 PM.

MY FLIGHT DOESN'T LEAVE UNTIL THE EVENING. CAN I HAVE LATE CHECK-OUT?

Let us know and we will see what we can do.

CAN I CHECK-IN/OUT A DAY EARLIER/LATER?

Yes, you can stay on-site for additional days before and after the retreat. We will not have any retreat services, just the regular hotel services and food will be available.

 

Schedule and Activities

WHAT TIME DO ACTIVITIES BEGIN ON ARRIVAL DAY?

On arrival day there are snacks starting from 2:30 PM and a Welcome Session beginning with a tour of the property at 3 PM.

IS THE SCHEDULE FIXED?

Yes, we have a fixed schedule. You will be provided with your schedule upon arrival.

CAN I LEAVE THE CENTER?

Yes, you can. We highly encourage guests to focus on the program rather than other activities. We do not provide transportation for solo activities off-site.

Food and Beverage

IS ALCOHOL PERMITTED? 

For your safety, we have a zero drug and alcohol tolerance policy. Use of alcohol or drugs on-site or off-site is grounds for removal from the retreat.

I LIKE TO EAT MEAT. DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR ME? 

Yes, our menu was designed by a Functional Nutritionist to be balanced in protein, fat, carbs, vitamins and minerals, which includes animal protein. It is based on a Paleo style diet.

I AM VEGAN/VEGETARIAN/HAVE ALLERGIES OR INTOLERANCES, CAN THE MENU BE ADAPTED?

Our program isn’t ideally suited for vegans and vegetarians because we rule out a lot of inflammatory and gut-irritating foods which then makes a vegan or vegetarian diet too restrictive. We can’t create personalized meal plans for guests. All food is served buffet style so guests can pick and choose what they want.

Yes, we have good wifi throughout the property.

CAN I GET CELL RECEPTION? 

Yes, in certain parts of the property.

I WON'T BE BRINGING MY CELL. CAN I CALL EUROPE/US/CANADA FROM THE VILLA? IS THERE A COST? 

Yes. We can help you call home.

CAN I USE MY CELL PHONE ON THE RETREAT?

Yes, you can but we encourage guests to use their phones as little as possible to truly disconnect and immerse in the program.

CAN I WORK ON THE RETREAT?

Yes, you can but we encourage guests to work as little as possible to truly disconnect and immerse in the program.

IS A COVID VACCINE REQUIRED TO ENTER PORTUGAL?

No

DO I NEED TO QUARANTINE WHEN I ARRIVE IN PORTUGAL?

No

DO I NEED PROOF OF VACCINATION OR A NEGATIVE COVID TEST TO ATTEND THE RETREAT?

No

IS THIS PROGRAM SUITABLE FOR ME?

Our programs focus on nervous system regulation which can be helpful for depression and anxiety. We can’t guarantee any particular outcome, we are not a medical nor mental health clinic. CAN I ADD EXTRA SERVICES?

Yes, you can reserve Spa Services.

CAN I BRING MY DOG/PET?

Sadly, we can't allow outside dogs or pets to attend the retreat.

DO YOU WORK WITH INSURANCE?

We do not work directly with insurance. Some guests have recouped partial cost of their retreat through their insurance provider. We can provide a receipt.

HOW MANY GUESTS WILL BE ON THIS RETREAT?

There will be between 25 and 45 guests.

Reservations, Cancellations and Payments

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL? 

We have a no refund policy but if we have a waiting list and find someone interested in taking your place, we can exchange your place to another retreat. For this reason we highly encourage the purchase of trip protection.
