Heart Rate Variability Training

Emotion and nervous system regulation.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a form of Biofeedback which means that we measure a biometric and receive feedback in order to improve the biometric and/or consciously control it. In this case we are measuring the variance in the gap in between heart beats, which shows us the balance within the autonomic nervous system ie. the balance between the sympathetic (flight/flight/freeze/fawn) and parasympathetic (relaxation/digestion/healing) branches of the nervous system.

Our goal with HRV Training on the Rēset program is to up-train the parasympathetic response to get guests out of chronic sympathetic activation, so that they can get into the recovery state on demand to improve stress management.

Our Rēset programs involve an introduction to HRV and guidance on how to train. Guests can view their progress throughout the retreat.
